Boards and Commissions

Serving on Boards and Commissions

The San Marcos City Council appoints citizens to serve on advisory boards and commissions.  Their recommendations to the City Council contribute to many of the decisions and policies of the City of San Marcos.  The Boards and Commissions Information Pamphlet provides basic information about volunteer service.

Applications to serve may be picked up and returned to:

City Clerk
City of San Marcos
Volunteer Interest Form
630 East Hopkins
San Marcos, TX  78666

Volunteers serve without pay on City boards and commissions.  Members must take an oath of office and serve in the interest of public service to the San Marcos community.   As City officials, board and commission members are subject to the standards of ethical conduct contained in the San Marcos Code of Ethics.  In most cases, board members may serve no more than two consecutive terms on a board and may serve on only one City Board at a time.

You may contact the City Clerk's office at (512) 393-8090.
