Canvass, Swearing In Set for New Council Member
The San Marcos City Council will canvass election returns and swear in Ryan Thomason in the Place 5 City Council seat at a special meeting Wednesday, December 23 at 12 noon at City Hall.
The City Council will canvass the returns of the run-off election held on December 15 in which Thomason defeated Lisa Marie Coppoletta, 696 (61.37%) to 438 (38.62%) votes.
Thomason, Vice Chair of the City’s Planning and Zoning Commission, won the seat held by retiring City Council Member Pam Couch. San Marcos City Council Members serve at-large for three year terms.

Ryan Thomason was elected to Place 5 on the City Council in the Dec. 15, 2009 run-off election. Results:

Total voter turn out: 1,138 voters or 3.93% of registered voters
